I recently had the opportunity to listen to a professional editor describe his thought process in assembling documentaries from hours and hours of interviews.  He is using FCP 7 and is looking at Adobe as a potential vendor to replace his Apple setup/software.

He described FCP X as software for kids.

It was said with annoyance and frustration (at least thats what I thought I heard).  He is also a young man who, with those words, sounded like a grumpy old man rejecting something he thought didnt respect his education and background.

The following link, in my opinion, is a well-written analysis.  The author refers to a sentiment (likely shared by the editor referred to above) from passionate filmmakers who are pissed off and therefore biased against writing an objective review.

I found the article and parts 2 3 well-written and informative.
